In 2010 one of its businesses that chiefly supplied to the construction sector, was underperforming. Help was needed. Clive Newell of Halagen, a provider of part-time experienced FDs, was approached to review and analyze the business in order to establish if it was a viable business or not.
“There were concerns about the business and I know that it is important to act quickly when sections of a business begin to slide. However we needed the expertise of an experienced FD, but without them being full-time on the payroll, to advise on the best course of action. Halagen’s input has been invaluable.
Having dealt with the underperforming company, Halagen then put together a strategic plan to significantly increase profitability. The plan was also presented to appropriate banks that ultimately led to a ten-fold increase in the working capital facility to finance the expansion.
